The Emperor's Children
The First Ada'Kar Novel
After a magical accident leaves another child wounded, young Thaera flees the only home she's ever known. Taken in by a reclusive Lord, she finds herself in a House steeped in sorrow, silence, and struggle.

Lord Armine O'Ren, the last of his name, wrestles with the shadow of his family's ruin. While the kingdom of Dromal keeps the Von'dari, an elven people, bound in servitude, Armine struggles against the system he once served. His closest companion, Sorynn, a Von'dari raised beside him, is both a brother of circumstance and an ally in the fight for good. But change for the greater good is never easy, and Armine must learn to recognize the responsibility that lurks within his privilege.

Thaera's presence at House O'Ren may be a second chance—or a dangerous burden, and as her buried power begins to stir, all must confront what it means to wield power in a world that grants none freely.

The Emperor’s Children is a tragic fantasy about haunted legacies, impossible choices, and the brittle strength of chosen family. It explores what is asked of the privileged, what is stolen from the oppressed, and what is left to those caught in between.

Welcome to Ada'Kar

Ada'Kar began as something small, as I suppose most great projects do. But over the last decade, it has bloomed into a vibrant fantasy world, complete with more stories, cultures, and adventures than I will likely ever get to tell. But for those of you who are interested, you can explore my books bellow; all set in this expansive and mythical world Like a great many wayward writers, I began working on fantasy with no intention of making it a career. In fact, all of Ada'Kar started as a game; little more than the shell that housed our D&D games and idle thoughts. But as the years wore on, and our journals grew crowded, it grew into something else. Something completely its own. Ada'Kar now stands as a proof of concept; what happens when you take planetary physics, cultural anthropology, and modern day string-theory, and use them to create a fantasy world? Apparently, you get a dark fantasy setting that thrives on the mundane elements of history. In Ada'Kar, you will find all the hallmarks of modern epic fantasy: Dragons, legends, monsters, and magic. ' But you will also find a thriving ecosystem of distinct cultures, varying beliefs, and the beautifully inconsequential; trade routs and bureaucracies, folk tales and local traditions. An expansive world that spares no expense from the micro to the macro.
